Customer Reviews: Crank Bros Candy SL December 16, 2008 Bryan D. Pistole (Rocklin, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are my first clipless pedals and I love them. Easy to lock in and even easier to disengage.
Great for muddy situations September 2, 2010 d.hawk (Austin) We have this amazing dusty clay in central Texas that under the influence of water turns into concrete. Add that into a Shimano style cleat and you have a recipe for disaster. The eggbeater design is great as it shucks the mud and grime out of the pedal. I prefer the candy's over the normal eggbeaters so I can ride my bike down the block on a tuning run w/o having to clip in, but dont have to lugg around the full platform version (Mallets/Acids?)
Get these if: You ride in wet/muddy conditions. Prefer a wider base pedal so you ride around in shoes in a pinch. Dont mind a rebuild (kit available) every few years.
good but not the best September 29, 2009 Bora Baysal (Istanbul, Turkey) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's a fairly light pedal designed by Crank Brothers, not the best though. I am kinda new to this spd pedal type, currently I'm having some trouble to shoe-pedal engagement but I'm on the way to get used to it. It looks like a sturdy product if not brake in the long run.
